hey...i have a mesa triple rec. stack along with a boss DD-6 and boss OC-2...i play a fender strat with a duncan JB in the bridge and a '59 at the neck...basically im looking to get a heavy rock/metal sound with a heavy tone for playing chords but highs that scream left and right for lead riffs. what effects do u recommend? also...im interested in buying a wah, but still unsure of what brand and model to get...so if anyone has any suggestions as to which pedal will best fit my setup, i appreciate ur help.

well for metal, I would say get a good delay pedal, chorus pedal, and start from there.
As far as wah pedals go, I love my dunlop crybaby. I think dunlop makes great wah pedals. and you could also pick yourself up a nice ernie ball volume pedal. If you are looking to get alot of effects, then just by a tc electronic unit.

For high gain, I like the Dunlop Zakk Wylde wah. It has a narrowed sweep that niether goes to bright or too muddy for high gain soloing. It has a cluch on in so that you can park it in one spot and use it as a notch filter (how I prefer to use it).

If you want to do clean soloing you'll find the Wylde's sweep to be too narrow, in which case you're better off with something like a Dunlop Classic Crybaby w/Fasel or a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah.

what about an overdrive pedal? is the ibanez tube screamer mod better then the boss SD-1 mod? i havent been able to hear/use either pedal modded. or can u suggest anything else

Personally, I can't stand an OD on my Recto. If I had two lead channels I would set one up for a heavy chugging rhythm, and one for a screaming lead with a slight jump in volume over the rhythm tone.
