Hi all,

Great forum with a lot of helpful people!!!

I have a Heartbreaker that has some issues with the volume and reverb dropping out. Anyone experience this? Anyone have an idea what it might cause this? Thank you!!

You might try a short guitar cable between the Loop jacks and see if that helps.

Also, how old are the tubes. A failing tube can cause this.

Does it happen in both channels or just 1?

I’m having the same exact problem, changed the power tubes, did not fix now on to the pre-amp tubes. I am at a loss; I will be playing and the volume just drops out, no crackling, no hiss, just gone. I will continue to TS and let you know what I find.

Check all the tubes!
Also make sure you have the bias switch in the right spot
for the power tubes you are using.
I called Marcus at Mesa and he told me most problems with the HB are bad or failing tubes.
Call them if you need help with TS ,they are helpful and will save you lots of time.Sounds like a tube issue to me.
Good Luck!

You guys with problems don't happen to be using tungsols reissues in V1 by chance do you? I am having a hard time with those particular tubes in the v1 spot in tweed mode. No power or gain. I switch to full power and they work fine. Switch out TS and it works fine in tweed mode.

TS from Lenny is Troubleshoot.
TS from boogieman75 is Tung-Sol, a brand of tube.

Fealin' stupid now!

Anyway, the problem with the amp was the effects send. The switching jack was corroded. I replaced it and all is good.
Thanks!

Cant be too stupid owning a HB!
Complicated amps for sure.So many things could be a problem.
The authorized Mesa service center I took mine to took a month to find the problem. The Space shuttle is less complicated
Glad to hear all is finally good with yours.

PS That HB and Hamer semi hollow body=NICE
I ve got a old Hamer Sunburst, sounds awesome w/ the Mesa.

More problems:
Volume is low at initial turn on. Bypassing the effects loop does not help.
If I trun the reverb down, the amp volume goes down.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
