im thinking about putting my mark4 short head combo into a head shell.isnt there someone ive seen on this board that builds these?anybody have any pics or pricing info?

A standard black one is about $250 + shipping from Mesa. (about another 50 if you want reverb and fan pre-installed) Expect to wait 8 Weeks.

The two board members that ocassionaly build headcabs are GTS for tolex heads and trickyrick for hardwood.

so you can contact mesa direct to build the shell?is it easy to just install the fan and reverb from the original combo?i would love to see some of the forum members youve mentioned samples of their stuff.

Yes. Mesa will be happy to build just about any kind of shell you are willing to pay for. Just call them up and ask for a quote.

It's easy to move the fan and the reverb but you need the mounting hardware from Mesa. You need to ask for a fan bracket, mounting screws, reverb grommits and a reverb pan cover when you place your order. Depending on how your combo is mounted now you may need to add chassis bolts too.

On the other guys - just do a search on their old post. You should find many pictures They both do nice work.

+1 on the GTS head shell. I have one for my C+ and it's great; many other members do also. George may also install the fan and tank if you want.

PM trickyrick. He makes awesome hardwood headshell. He did mine for just a week and keeps me posted every other day with updates and pics.
