Has anyone tried cab impulses with their Mark series amps?

I like to record a lot, but I can't crank my amp to mic it where I live. I have a Pod XT, which is pretty cool, but the cabinet simulation on it REALLY sucks. So, I have been using cabinet impulses. If you don't know what they are, look them up....

A while back, I went from the 'preamp out' of my Mark IIB into my Presonus interface, which sounded awful because there's no cabinet involved anymore, but in Sonar, I added a cab impulse and it sounded really cool. I haven't done it much since then, but has anyone been successul with doing this? I'll try to post some clips soon.
