Hi! I am just recently bought a Mark V after so many years of dreaming about it but always could not convinced myself why should I get this just to play in my bedroom! I have Express 5:50 head and last year add the Mini Rectifier 25 head but still could not get rid of the "itch" to get the Mark V (call me gear **** ). Finally earlier this year I did what I should have done long time ago, plug it in at the store and within 5 mins I am fully convinced!

I play in a variety cover band that mainly play '80-'90 Thai pop rock songs as a hobby but my main interest lies in Metal. I am after Petrucci and Hetfield's sound like many of the Mesa fans and in my Opinion the Mark V answer them all very well.

A few days ago there is a rumor spreading in Thailand that after 20 years, we might have a Metallica Live in Bangkok once again! To celebrate this great news, I could not resist to record this VDO of Master Of Puppets cover. The setting was shown in the VDO and all my rhythm sounds came from guitar+amp and that was it.

Love this amp so much!

Kick ass! I use to play MOP in a cover band back in the late 80's (maybe early 90's) but don't think my picking hand could handle that now...hehe.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a metal band now! :D

after many many years of playing through a 2:90/triaxis rig,i also bought a markV combo(early serial no.) a month ago and im just dialing in that
super death crunch i had coming out of the triaxis,,sounds awesome,,,
the metallica vid was cool brought back a lot of memories

I used to be in Metallica cover band during college year (well almost 20 years ago) but back then my picking hand could not handle MOP but I could now :D

The lead guitar player from that time is still in the same "weekend hobby" band with me today. We keep talking from time to time to form another Metal band soon!

Thank you! The Triaxis+2:90 was the first one that I look into but they are extremely difficult to find in Thailand. The Express 5:50 handle what my current band is doing fine, the Mini Rectifier 25 add the metal sound (and it is the best for rehearsal, so light!) but the Mark V just cover everything!!! What an amazing sounding amps!

That was great! I couldn't see it in the video. Were you using the iic+ or the mark iv setting?

just a guess here but by the sound of that famous hum in the beginning of the video
sounds like mk iv mode ?? are you having any of the squealing issues with the mk iv mode
@sklabdee76..
i have a super awesome tone in channel 3 but sometimes i get that feedback squeal
im thinking these amps like lower gain tubes
do you still have the stock mesa preamp tubes in there

Yes, it was the Mark IV mode indeed. I didn't know about that famous hum but kind of getting used to it since I guess all the high gain amp will always have that hum?

I do not have the feedback squeal problem. It is pure awesome tone!

And I am still use (always have) the stock tubes. I will for sure experiment with the other brands in the future.

Sounds good. Try this for a sick heavy tone. Ch2, MK1 setting, don't hit thick switch... Bass, zero....mids lo taste...treble max...Presence max. Gain anywhere from 10 O'Clock to 2 O'clock. Use the Graphic to add some top end and dip the mids. So thick and nasty. I actually prefer it to using channel 3.
