Here's a new happy Mesa player from Belgium :)

Some weeks ago I started developing some serious GAS for a Rectifier. This weekend I bought a new 3 channel Dual Recto, including a Bogner 2x12 oversized cab with V30 speakers. I am still messing around with the settings, but the thick, heavy rythm sound I dialed in on channel 2 Vintage mode is just addictive  Still tweaking my lead tone though, but progress is being made :)

Anyway, pix and clips:

My old rig:

The 4x12 is being sold, too big and I like the Bogner better :) The Marshall DSL100 stays, kicks too much *** for classic rock.

Here's a quickly recorded sound clip when I just got this rig with the master volume set very low. Recorded with the built in mic of my laptop sitting on a couch a few meters in front of the cab. Crappy quality, mainly because of the fact that this little mic cannot handle the Recto bass and makes it sound like a distorted boomy mess. But i guess it gives an idea:

I would appreciate some example lead settings, I know the Recto is not the best amp for getting singing, sustaining solo's (actually, I suck at soloing ), but I guess some people can get a pretty good lead sound from it. Post settings please :)

Welcome! (hey andoni ;) )

Nice 1/4 stack!
Hope you'll enjoy the boogieboard!

Nu je een recto hebt gaan ze je trouwens allemaal ompraten om een Mark IV te kopen, zo zijn ze hier, vooral in vintage ;)

taking into account the "recording setup", I bet that sounds killer in the same room! Mind sharing your settings, be nice to try out some low volume settings.

Enjoy your new amp!

I think these were my settings. Keep in mind that these are tested only at rather low volume, I'm pretty sure I'll have to tweak them when playing on higher volume.

Channel 2, Vintage Mode, Bold Setting, Tube Rectifier.
Presence: 11 (o' clock)
Master: as needed
Gain: 14
Bass: 12 or 13 (depending on pick ups)
Mid: 8 or 9 (depending on volume)
Treble: 12:30

Yeah, you will definitely have to tweak when you raise the volume, but that goes for most amps. Our ears perceive sound differently at different volumes as well...Generally at higher volume I generally decreased the bass a bit and found that the top end got a little smoother too.

Good luck!
