I went out and purchased a rectoverb combo as a trial and there is no way this amp is leaving my home. Guitar center is pretty clever "loaning" out mesa boogie.
I followed some of your tips, I have all my dials (except output) set close to 12:00. (good starting point). Channel 1 pushed is making some of the best blues sounds I've ever played. In fact, after following your advice, I have hardly touched the dials. I tried channel 2 for 15 minutes, but am having way too much fun in channel one. I have a pile of pedals, and havent once thought of plugging one in !
No need to stress about not trying the lonestar, stilletto etc... I'm sure they are all incredible amps. Thanks for all the advice all ! I'm here to stay. (WHat does that make me anyway? is there a name for boogie people?)
