For fixing a specific problem (such as hum etc.) I like parametric's because of their ability to focus in on a very small band of frequencies, but for general tone shaping I prefer graphic eq's because they're quicker and easier to work with. That's why I use an MXR 10 band graphic eq.

I have a mxr 6 band graphic eq and i love it. Its very quiet and has hard wire bypass, plus its so cheap. Its quiet provided u dont go crazy on the sliders like some people do...then they comment on its hiss....duhh...

I like standard sliders since if I have a problem I don't want to have to analyze the Q setting.

However, I think if I had more time with a parametric I'd prefer it. But I don't have a use for one since I easily dial in solid tone and can usually work the amp well enough. Except that Ch2 on the LSC was giving me trouble last time.....
