It's about an hour drive from me. I don't see any mark above the power cord, or any initials below it. Is it just my eyes? You would think the seller would include a close-up shot of this.

No + and No MB sign-off ???? The 4th knob has no writing above it?
What gives?
Still a great amp, regardless but not a C+...right???

It is a C or C+. The others that I've seen had the + above the power cord and MB on the lower left of the rear panel. The tolex is a little rough, the repair end on the power cord, and it not being a Simul-class make the buy-it-now price seem WAY steep. He is fishing with a treble hook indeed.

That's my point....
It is NOT a C+ due to the lack of the mod (+ above the power cord and Mike Bendenelli didn't sign off on it)

Just false advertising.... That's all. And he's asking WAY too much for it IMO !

I saw that guy at a bar a couple weeks ago. He was a smartass. He told me it was a IIC+ colisseum but it was too dark for me to look at the back.

Seems like it may be a Mark IIc, all though it's possible that it is a C+ the only absolute way to find out is by calling Boogie with the s/n. Even if it were a genuine IIc+ that is a ridiculous amount of duckets to drop on that head!

I email'd the seller last night about the c+ part he replyed that it has both the MB and the'+' and he offered to send me better pics, said those ones didnt turn out that great

so it may well be the grandaddy of all c+'s

for that price I really would want a BJ as well....thats alot of cash!!!!!

I don't know...I've seen C+'s go for 3k...but then again...one just went for 1,300 on ebay a week or so ago so I guess there are several different factors involved...

I wouldn't turn down a Coliseum if I found one for the right price. I don't think it's automatically a "better" C+ just because it is rare. The extra power is of little or no use to most people. Most of the people that want a C+ want it for the gain sounds. You also don't hear them complaining about a lack of headroom on the clean channel.

I might be the only one, but I would prefer a regular Simul-class or 60/100 over this one.

the coliseum's have a full/half switch. (which is really like 180/60, so they should call it a full/one third but w/e). this IS a c+ guys, look at the pics again, its faint, but in the top left corner there is the telltale plus. its just not direcly over the power cord....

I was very tempted to test the waters with this seller, being that I live so close. I see no need in making Paypal rich, so here is the Email that I sent.

If I were to win this auction and pick the amp up in person, will you discount it for the 3% of Paypal fees if I bring cash? I will want to test drive the amp to check it out, is this a problem? I know what it should sound like, as I have two simulclass C+'s and a good friend has a 60/100.

Joey

This reply I got from him really made me think something is wrong with the amp, or it is just the "smartass" coming out. Who knows?

If you win it you pay the ending auction price, regardless of payment method. You are welcome to pick up the amp in person and try it out, but if you win it it is yours, no changing of the mind once you got here to pick it up.

What do you guys think? I only told him about my amps to clarify that I knew what to expect, tone wise.
I hope that my question to him is not considered "smartass" :D That was not my intention.

He probably could have worded that a little better.

He is probably worried about the high bidder showing up and then changing their mind. I would let a bidder know that they are welcome to try things out during the auction but if they win they are obligated to buy the item - not come and decide if they want it or not. He doesn't want you to win the auction, come play the amp and then say "this doesn't sound like it should - will you take $300 less" or have you back out.

There are plenty of flaky people that use ebay. I was selling an expensive item this year ($4500 opening bid, no reserve). I had two bidders and the item was at $4750 with 3-days left. The high bidder asked me if he could come look at the item and what my "BIN" price would be if he wanted to take it home with him. I told him I would end the auction for $4900 if he was the high bidder. He came, looked at the item, and then asked me if I would take $4500. :D I asked him why I should take $4500 when he already had a binding bid at $4750 and another person had one at $4700. He didn't have a good answer and ended up giving me the $4900. In any case this is the kind of logic many ebayers have.
