im going to be using a Roadking next week to record some guitar tracks. Can someone give me some good start settings?

(the dual and roadking are very simliar i heard)

Then ill just use my ears to tweak after. I have the option of using mesa v30 traditional cab or marshall with greenbacks, so ill try both out.

Something Hardrock/Metal - I really like the tones Nevermore, Killswitch, Thrice, Foo Fighters get.

Id appreciate the help very much : )

My favorite setting for Classic Boogie distortion is this:

Channel 3 (any tube combination sounds pretty good)
Mode - Vintage
Gain - 3:00
Trebble - 12:00
Mids - 11:00
Bass - 10:00
Pres - 11:00
Guitar used is humbucker guitar

One of my favorite settings that I've come to use alot too is this:
Channel 2 (2 EL34's)
Mode - Brit
Treb - 100%
Mids - 11:00
Bass - 2:00
pres - 10:00 - 12:00
guitar - humbucker
(Try this setting before you see trebble 100% and think WTF?.... It sounds great for some lower distortion - Marshally tones.

Check out my little guitar site at www.guitartest.moonfruit.com and go to the Road King clips page and I've got a sample of those two settings there......ones called "RK Rock" (which has the vintage mode) and the other is "RK Slow" with the Brit and clean tones). Theres's also some live (sloppy) stuff just to show off the tone. Each clip is only about 30-40 seconds except the montage's.
