How is the gain channel on these? I heard it's not as good as earlier models. So which Rev has a good clean channel and that great old recto gain that's not fizzy? In other words, which one is best?

His tone is awesome. I may be purchasing this amp. Any advice Fluff?

That's the one to get, classic recto tone! Do it
I have a 2 ch triple just like that and I found it a bit tighter than the 2 ch dual I played on (also a rev G, due to the extra power tubes = more headroom)

The gain is plentiful also and not fizzy at all (the 3 ch heads are notorious for that)
I run the gain at 2:00 unboosted and it slays, even a 3 ch boosted can't touch the tightness of this amp!

I'm waiting for the guy to get back to me as we speak. If things work right, it'll be mine this weekend

I would offer him $900, between $700 and $900 are the going price these days for a two channel with proper footswitch.
