Hey guys, first post here. Name is Bob Frias. I own the mighty Mark IV.
I'm getting some lip on YouTube over whether a Deizel VH4 can crush ANY Boogie. I'm getting a lot of "It can't hang", "It's flabby sounding". That kinda stuff. There is a guy a few spaces over with a VH4 and while his tone is tight, so is mine. I want to A?B em to see exactly who is or isn't flabby.
I'm running 5881's on the outside and 6L6 GC's on the inside, Boogie 12AX7's in the pre. I'll be using EMG 81/85 equipped guitars for the test. We'll use the same cab in both try's [ironically, he is using a Recto cab]. My Mark IV is tighter than a frogs ass, and that's waterproof, so wish me luck.
All sound is subjective and this VH4 owner will be unaware of why I'm doing this [at least at first]. Any thoughts?
Bob
