I'll keep an eye out for the Octopus... Question though - is this a little 'rack' thing, or is it a footswitch.. or both? quote]

The Octopus is not a footswitch. It is a little rack thing taking up one rack space high and 1/2 a rack space across. It accepts midi signals or can be operatied by hand , so if you want to footswitch you need a midi footswitch, like an Mesa Abacus, but the are also smaller and cheaper MIDI footswitches that just go up and down one patch. If I were you the first thing I would do is either find a FU-2 or keep your FU-2A and have Mesa mod the Quad to accept the FU-2A footswitch. I have heard that this is a mod they will do and if you are sending it to them anyway might as well get her done up.

I intended to get more rack stuff in the future, so I was thinking of going with a good switching system for the future. Hmm... I dunno though. Modding the Quad to accept the FU-2a does seem like a choice. The only thing is that I'm not sure how much all of this is going to cost. From the looks of it, getting a new switching system would be cheaper than having Mesa mod it. We'll see though...

An extra special thanks to Koadogg for the tip. Above are the two little shorted jacks that I use to turn on the channels to test.

I think I've got it figured out now. What happened was the wires to the reverb tank were off and were bouncing around inside the Quad, and that's why the reverb wasn't working. Another thing it was affecting was the RHY2 channel coming on when I'd tap it because the male part of the wire was bouncing around on the circuitry.

I'll do some more testing and see if it's 100% now...
