What is up with the G string?
When I put the distortion up (about 7 on both volume) the G string sounds muddy, dirty and just not very pleasant. It happens with both guitar (PRS Santana III and Les Paul Gibson)
Anyne also experience this? Not sure if this is normal or not. But it is the worst, dirtiest, scratchiest, sounding string...
E and B sound very liquid. G sounds scratchy and not fluid at all...
Is it the amp? if yes, any workaround to have it sound more fluid when distorting. (That is my tone, I have to have distortion , creamy sining distortion...not heavy metal distortion.

Thanks

sounds like somthing to do with the G's harmonic content...does it only happend with open G string..do does it happen on All G's

Maybe you have the Mid control too high?Try turning the bass and mid control down. When the amp is cranked these should be down around 2 or so.

Stokes,

My Mid are turned to 10 basically. That is the essence of my tone(very high Mid).
So unfortunately, that might be the culprit.
Shep (only happens with open G)

Thanks for the replies
