I use an eq pedal in the fx loop to boost the volume for leads. The problem is when i add a rack reverb to the loop. When the eq is off the reverb sounds fine, but when i turn the eq on the reverb becomes strong and overbearing. Iv tried switching the order of the two in the loop but it doesn't help. I assume the boost from the eq is acting as a level boost to the reverb unit. Is there any way around this?

I cant give up my eq boost. but i would love to have lexicon reverb.

No the eq in front will not give me enough of a volume boost. if there isn't a solution to my problem i may have to put the reverb in front with my delay. Or get a 3 channel amp, I hear they don't sound as nice as the 2 channels though.

What kind of eq is it that you are running?

I know the MXR 10 bands will CERTAINLY boost a 2 channel DR in front or in the loop, but with it in front, it will also help with compressing your preamp section... which would then be sent to your reverb unit. The more compressed the sound going into the lexicon is, the better it will sound.

i have a boss ge-7. in my experience when you put a EQ in front of an amp it works like your guitar volume knob. on clean channel it controls volume but on overdrive channel it just adds gain/dirt and a bit of volume.
