I am in total agreement with everyone here. Simple is good. I play my Strat or Les Paul through a volume/wah, Keeley compressor, TS-9, and occasionally a little chorus, then on to LSC 2x12. The sound is in the attack of your hands and pick. When we play rock, nothing can touch the sound of a Les Paul cranking, but man, that Strat does the rest so well!

My biggest regret is that i've sold most everything of my old rigs for a fistfull of peanuts. So many pedals, solidstate combos and "made in Korea" guitars gone in the hands of unknown new owners.

The thrill is gone baby ooooh the thrill is gone

When i was younger i loved the Marshall ala Slash sound with a nice amount of gain via appetite. As i got older...10 years later im in love with SRV over driven blues sound with fenders...maybe when im 40 ill love the clean jazz sounds of coltraine...but i still love to dig into some GNR dirt sometimes...
