Yes I did.I actually paid less than that for each one of mine, one came from ebay and the other from guitar center(yes, they knew what it was to)within the last year, and they are both super clean and both cream tolex with factory EV's.There was a woody C+ a couple of months ago that was up for 2600.00 for 2 weeks. He must have made a deal with someone be cause he ended the auction the second time around.Anyone can ask whatever thay want for anything they have, its the American way.I was just wondering what this one has that the last loaded C+ woody didn't have, other than EQ that makes it worth 75% more, thats all.If you want to really see what its worth, put it up with a high reserve and see where it ends.

I don't remember the ebay woody you are referring to. Probably because I saw that it didn't have EQ and hit the back button immediately. Lack of EQ is a deal-killer for me and a lot of other people. Some people don't mind but it definitely hurts the price and limits your market somewhat.

This ebay amp is also a wildcard because of the export tranny. If you live outside the USA and want a loaded C+ with this tranny they can be very difficult to find.

I don't think the ebay amp is worth anywhere near $4k. I personally wouldn't sell it for less than $3k if it were mine. I would guess he will get that for it especially if he isn't in a hurry.

The one I got from guitar center has the export tranny.I think its all luck of the draw as to what people are looking for when you sell something. If its a hot item at a reasonable price, and the times right, someone will buy it.

Its all simple economics , At the end of the day if there is a large demand for a scarce item ,which there obviously is people these days will pay the asking price, even way over the odds
Nice amp though !!! 8)

On this one for sale, it says LB under the power chord, and it says MB on the top of the chassis.

1) Who is LB? Any significance?
2) What does the MB on the top of the chassis mean?

Thanks. Well, I offered 3150 plus shipping thinking that was dang generous, and he rejected it too. I'm a bit surprised he rejected it before he gave it more time. So it must not even be close to what he would accept. I notice he has a Mark III up he wants 2500 for - I imagine he's just fishing, and those buy it now prices are dang near what he's hoping for.

I agree that you gave a pretty generous. I would be surprised really if he got a higher offer than that!

Looks like it sold for $3500. The $4k BIN "or best offer" worked perfectly for him.

I guess he's glad he didn't jump on that $2000 offer?

I was the one that grabbed it. A couple reasons
1) The guy appears to be an honest seller, and he knew he had something special, and I didn't hold that against him. I know that not all amps or guitars even with the same model or vintage are created the same. This one is supposed to be one of the best. I feel the same way about some of my guitars that play way better than the price range more "typical" guitars of that model "typically" fetch on eBay.
2) Even if the amp is one of the special ones, I don't want a stinky musty rusty old amp, and it seems to me the supply of very good condition IIC+ exports fully loaded is dwindling. Possibly because stronger hands have been buying them the last few years. This one appears to have just been held by collectors for a number of years since it was owned by a guy that I'd heard of before. The other amp the seller is selling (that mint Mark III) is essentially unplayed.

Anyway, I hope it works out perfectly for me. :)

I think the other thread notes that there are a few cap's that were changed. Minor stuff IMHO anyway. There is nothing (aside from the $4k original price) that would scare me away from the amp.
