Selling my Mark IIC+. Will try and post some pics soon - we just had a baby, which is the reason for not having time for pics yet and also the reason for the sale of the amp.

Features: 60/100w, reverb

Honestly, this head is in great shape. Sounds incredible. And it was just given a clean bill of health by our local boogie tech, Val King.

Contact me with any questions or for specific pictures. Asking $2200 plus shipping.

Thanks!

I've never posted pics on here before and I have enough people asking for them that I'd rather do it here than email them - if someone could help me figure it out I'll post a ton tonight (we're back from the hospital now).

I have a few people saying they're willing to pay the price I've asked, we'll see if it goes through. If not, to answer questions a few people have asked, this is the head, not a combo and it does not have the export tranny nor graphic eq.

Thanks!

Okay, so no help on posting the pics. But I am willing to email them. So PM me if you want pics and I'll send some your way.

register with photobucket.com, then upload pics there. Afterwards they'll give you some codes/links you can paste here and they go up.

Let's see how this works....

I hope this helps - I tried to be thorough. In case you can't make it out, the serial is 11629.

Please PM me with any questions or to request any additional specific pics.

Thanks!

I've got it. The previous owner had "decorated" the head shell with stickers and some artwork. I wanted a classic looking rig so I had Mesa Boogie build me this head shell.

I can include the old head shell at the buyers option - I'm trying to figure out why I had a dozen "potential buyers" in the first hour then all of a sudden nothing for over a week.

Welcome to the C+ market and the American economy. :?

Well, if you see it here, it's still up for sale, so hit me up. I'll post when it sells. In the meanwhile I guess I'm stuck with a pretty incredible amp.

I'd say the lack of the EQ option put some people off. It looks like a REALLY nice head though! Good luck with it!

I did not want to say that...but I agree. We are a very select group here I am sure you know.

I'm getting very particular about what buckles my knees anymore. I say an auction site whould serve you well though.

I believe it was also an "upgrade" C+ correct?

I certainly wish you well and I strongly suggest an auction site. You know the "big one" I'm sure :)

Thanks.

Yeah, I've wondered how important the EQ is to other people (maybe it's quite important). All I've known for sure is how important it was to me - which was not very, since I always thought the magic was in the circuitry of the IIC+ rather than that it was some special graphic eq that boogie only put in the IIC+ that made it great.

It's a philosophy that has worked great for me until I was trying to sell it.

OK, well I'll throw in my two cents. I do not consider it appropriate for a head of that pedrigree, at that asking price, with new headshell to not have black machine screws and countersunk washers. To me, it shows either carelessness, laziness, or ignorance. None of which engenders trust or reliability.

Also, to call it "mint" when it clearly is not in a vintage headshell, has the wrong hardware, and shows signs of wear, does not comply with my definition of mint. To me, mint means "as if new." Clean, yes, excellent condition, sure, but mint? IMHO, no.

If I were to buy this head, it would be from the point of view of this needs work. Minor work, yes, but work nonetheless. 2K for a fixer-upper just doesn't do it for me.

Of course, these are my own biases and my expectations which may be completely off, and are not a reflection of metal190 but of my own internal, mental processes.

Like I said, just sharing my two cents.

The motive behind this thread is selling the amplifier, not a critique of the gear I'm trying to sell. It might be me feeling defensive after being called careless, lazy or ignorant, but I'll address the post in any case.

Maybe I should ask how many Mark IIC+'s you've seen or owned. Because the original head shell did not have countersunk screws, nor has any other IIC+ that I have seen. Maybe it's a fluke and I'm wrong. But unless you're a IIC+ expert (which maybe you are), I would have phrased that last post like a question rather than an accusation.

There is a scratch on the face plate which the previous owner tried to cover up with a sharpie. I don't see anything else that warrants calling this a fixer-upper. I mean, honestly, that's kind of silly. And pictures are posted with the obvious intent of revealing in detail the condition of the amp. If someone still wants to make the jump to question my honesty, then I'd welcome them to look for amps on Craigslist. I don't blame a cautious buyer (I am one) - but if someone makes that jump, then I don't see why they're looking at free online classified forums in the first place.

If you want to comment on any other issue in the amp that you feel like warrants the fixer-upper title, be my guest. I'll respond. I thought it was already clear I was game for full disclosure.

As far as calling it mint, if it was literally "like new" I would have called it "like new". I'll take the comment as constructive criticism, however, and change the title. But for what it's worth, when I see a spotless, new condition head shell, with perfect electronics vouched for by the local mesa tech, new tubes, and a couple small blemishes on the face plate, and all this on a more than twenty year old amplifier, I don't think "wow, this one needs work". I guess we're each entitled to our own opinion.

Anyway, again, the purpose of this thread is to sell this head. If you don't think it's a fair price, shoot me an offer, or move on to the next ad. Based on what I've seen from other IIC+ sales, and having seen and heard this amp, I obviously think the price is reasonable.
