like the title says. im putting the mesa up for sale. let me say, this is a sad thing for me to do. im going to college in the fall and i need the money bad right now and i havent been playing are the reasons for selling. the amp is in great shape outside and plays like the dream. modded in nashville by a guy named joel. it has 6550 power tubes, jj GZ34 rectifier tubes, and the stock preamp. the cab is a 2x12 fat bottom VHT which retails for 800$. i have no set amount to sell it for but i want to take offers right now to see where im it. serious inquiries only please. you can find the picks under the music section of my myspace account at www.myspace.com/woody42420

What do the 6550's do for a recto sound wise?

they make it sound pretty interesting actually. i can get a really razor sharp bite all the way to smooth gain with out the bite. ive never tried 6l6's in it but i have played all of the mesa amps except the mkIV and compared to my recto they sound kind of ordinary. not ordinary but more bland. i think the GZ34's really helped a lot. when i switched to them i absolutely loved my sound.

If i list this on ebay (since no one has really offered me anything here) what would you guys suggest i set my reserve at with the cab. being fair here b/c im not going to cut my own throat. i was thinking 14or 1,500. does that seem fair?
