The MKIV's that came with EV's were front loaded like most of the MK series amps.
I used to own a MKIV wide-body combo with the Celestion 90 watt speaker and it was rear-loaded. It was ***** trying to swap out and try various speakers in that cabinet.
Nowadays, Mesa is only using the Celestion, and all of the new MKIV combos I'm seeing in stores are using the wide-body rear-loaded cabinets.
Does naybody know if they are still making MKIV's in the shorter body with the front-loading speaker?
Or, does the wide-body combo also come in a front-loading design?
There was no way to front-load an EV in my wide-body combo, as I think I recall. I think the grill was too close to the speaker or something. But I could be mistaken about that. Most of my troubles had to do with trying to rear-load an EV in there which could be done, but it was a very tight fit and it wayed a ton.
