Regarding the wicker grille on a thiele in an ebay action. The seller says:
"Grille material is made of strong twisted jute dipped in a special coating that filters top end for a sweeter response."
I burst out laughing after reading this one. Someone's on crack ;-)

They have to use more jute dripping if you have ev's in your cab !

ALL MESA® ENCLOSURES are made using the finest Void-free, Marine Grade Baltic Birch in varying thicknesses of no less than 9 ply and as many as 14 ply. Super strong rabbet corners are glued and nailed and all backs are gasket sealed to ensure an air-tight seal. Baffles are fitted with superior dado joint construction and braced. Grilles are wrapped around a separate grilleboard, not the baffle board. Grille material is made of strong twisted jute dipped in a special coating that filters top end for a sweeter response. You simply won’t find a better cabinet.

It's cut from Mesa's product description. They tend to be a little over the top at times.

Beyond that, the grille cloth material does attenuate treble frequencies so the description isn't made up... just a little over the top.

That makes it even funnier. Yes it's over the top.

Fwiw any grille cloth material will attenuate treble frequencies to some extent.

Good one! ;-)

wow...another over the topper...
how about my favorite, for old time's sake??

Mk V manual: "So, if you run into II-C+ snobs who brag about their amps or doubt the authenticity of your rendering, smile and feel a pang of pity for the price they probably paid and let them have their glory. After all, they need their pride because they don’t have the other 8 amplifiers you have on board to express themselves with. "

The Horse piss process is only legal in Arkansas, so Farenheit.

As for Doug West in the MK V manual, that's a douch bag comment directed at this board.
I guess John Petrucci is a major douche since he has 10 or so C+'s.

I pretty much swore off buying a Mark V because of how this guy was allowed to insult Boogie users in the user manual. What was Randy thinking?

+1...no doubt...I had just bought my V and read the manual...wanted to send it back after reading that
...and Ryjan, your vid/image doesn't show, but once you described it as SPAZZ, I knew exactly the video you were referencing... :)

Doug is a great player of many styles, and I still do not get why he would write such a backhand slap about any Boogie player. I know about marketing a new product and such, but that comment crossed the line, in a bad way. They have revised the Mark V manual at least one time, and that quote is still in there. :?:

I have never seen that demo and it is PRICELESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's like Parkinson's and Gergle Lynch Rock Faces all in one.
I guess clean sustain is accomplished by waving the neck back and forth while
biting your bottom lip.

Ed, I know you can't be Hatin' on George Lynch. He is an awesome player that got caught up in the "Power Ballad" groove. I blame the record companies for all that ****. Jimi, SRV, and EC make some "faces" and it's all good to me. 8)

Who is this guy within Mesa? It seems like a comment to get new dollars from new customers while pissing on old ones. Not wise unless a decision was made to sacrifice the old customers opinions in favor of making money selling more amps.

I have had a V for a while. When I plugged in to the IIC and played it, now that was the real thing, the real dynamic amp that changd metal music. The V is great at what it does, but that comment above is disrespectful greedy marketing BS.

Even if the guy thought it, don't put it to paper, and definitely don't put it in an owners manual...
