Footswitch control of FX Loop

Howdy there.

Can someone please tell me what type of footswitch will control the FX loop on/off, and also which of the 2 foot switch inputs would I plug into; the one on the front or the one on the back? The input at the rear says CHAN and LOOP for external switching, the front input just says FW which I usually put the Foot channel switcher into, but have become a little confused by the input choice at the rear. I have a 2 channel Dual Rectifier, pre 2000.

It's just a standard latching type switch...the same as the channel switcher.

You would plug into the LOOP jack to turn the fx loop on and off.
