I just have to replace the Volume and Bass pots, and I'll be off and runnin'!

Gruntruck and Metallica's Black album are what made me go in the Mk direction.

Congratulations on the MkIII! Gruntruck...wow, haven't heard them in a long, long while..I'll have to dig that up now. Don't stop there, tons of tones in that amp!

Congratulations and welcome to the club! You even got a Mark III Long Head! Wow! Where did you find that? There's not too many Mark III users out here in AZ! I just recently moved to the east-side of town, and the only Boogies I see are Dual Rectifiers! What stripe is yours?

Me too! Picked up this blue stripe and a Mesa stickered EV for $600 off Craigslist. Those are "new" 416s in the outer sockets. New cabinets to come.

Nice man! From the pics, it looks like the fan is mounted vertically. How hot does the chassis get?

The Blue Stripes are definitely my favorite Mark IIIs. They are absolutely brutal. It seems that many of us Mark III-ers have doubled-up on these things, which speaks volumes about them, IMHO...

He took the speaker out and chopped the combo cabinet down. He thought I'd put it back together as a combo but I'm re-tolexing it black/wicker with a matching cabinet. The amp has been on CL in Connecticut for months at $600, I didn't haggle, wtf ya know? I looked at it often thinking why doesn't someone buy it? I had my eye on bunch of C+'s and a quad pre, but I'm a Mark III guy. I'm still going to get a 50/50 to go with my studio pre. The bay has a 50/50 at $450 by-it-now right now. GAS SUCKS! (not really)
