so, after 4 non EQ C+s, what are your thoughts on this one so far?

This is actually my 4th C+.

I am still looking for the sweet spot on this amp. I have all weekend to mess with it, and then I am gonna go ahead and send it to mesa for service.

It is definately a nice sounding amp! I can't wait to see how it sounds with a thiele running with the combo.

great! I like a pretty face, but I could marry a girl for her A$$. any pics of the backside?

congrats!

Beautiful amp. Very clean. I like that it's a 60/100. I hear those have a nice punch and agression to them that the Simul-Class models do not. Does it have that fabled "Graphic EQ Sag/depth/slower pick response" that is described by Doug West?

The 60/100 C+ (105 PT, GEQ model) that I played was anything BUT slow or saggy. Plenty of depth and punch, though. 8)

As far as the EQ goes, to me it an added bonus. I have grown acustomed to the sound w/o EQ. Sounds amazing with or without. I like the fact that I can switch it to 60, turn off the EQ, and have almost the same C+'s I had before.

I had a 60/100 w/ x101, and ran a MXR 6 band eq in the loop. Also had (2) 60 watt reverbs.

This C+, definately has more of an aggressive sound to it, but I can't say it sounds better or worse than the others. To me it just sounds flat out amazing!!!

I also have a C+ (upgraded from a B) with Rev/GEQ, 60/100W and X101.
"Sag/slower pick response"? Are you kidding?

In my opinion, Doug West is always making reference to Simul-Class amps. I haven't heard him talking about the 60/100 watters. Sort of looking down on them.
I can promise you that my 60/100 with EQ is anything but slow. It is very aggressive.

Dropped in a quad of Mesa STR 415's, and Sylvania ecc83's. Flipped it to 100 watt mode.

All I can say is WOW!

Don't you all find funny that Doug West just focuses on the presence or lack of a large capacitor but says nothing about the 60/100 vs Simul-Class or the 105 vs X101?

Really... Nobody finds funny that Doug West just focuses on the presence or lack of a large capacitor in the GEQ but fails to compare 60/100W vs Simul-Class or the 105 transformer vs X101?

It's a Mark V manual, not a IIC+ discussion paper.
