Hi all, I am new here, just found this board a couple weeks ago and have been reading great threads since ! My main amp for the past 4 years has been an F100 head into a 3/4 back 212. I have been nothing but happy with this amp since I got it. Changed tubes once about 18 months ago, put mesa's in again. I playin a gigging cover band and play out lots, but the past year has been slow, not mcuh gigging.
So yesterday I moved it from one room in my house to another and plugged everything in. And when I turned on the power there was a crackling and then a pop and the amp was off, there was also a faint burning smell. I checked the fuse, it looked OK but I changed it anyway, checked that all the rubes were in tight, and changed power outlets. Then turned it on and it seemed to be OK. Possibly the clean channel is a little quieter, and not as dynamic but that might be my imagination?
S what I am wondering is what could have caused this? Could I have a burned out preamp tube? Could I have had a loose tube or something? I just don't want to end up with a bigger problem or something dyin during a gig.
