Hmmm. I wonder if that circuit is stuffed in my amp ? And may have been for a long time. The instantaneous foot switch operation brought it out??

Pretty sure it is in your amp. A lot of guys don't seem to notice a delay.
My amp has a solid half second drop in output when changing channels or modes.
I would almost rather have the pop sound honestly.
I wish they would go back to having more tubes with dedicated tube stages for each channel. I fully understand the need to keep costs down in manufacturing, but I had a Mark V that had similar issues. For me it was a serious deal killer.

3 transistors that mute the sound for about half a second while any channel changes or mode changes are going on.
I like to change channels in the middle of a chord or note.....I freaking hate the mute circuit!!!!
I know there is a lot of stuff going on when you change channels on a modern Mesa, but a delay, glitch, drop in sound, etc, is just not going to work for me.

When working properly, the mute circuit is a few milliseconds, and not 1/2 second. Thanks!
