I think I'll try a Cannabis Rex, I will report what I find! Thanks for the info.

Yeah J.J.... forget about a V30. I've had it with those! I prefer that dull / flat tone with zero fuzz. :)

I just recently got a 5:50 head and am running it through a 212 Rectifier cab with V30's that I used to use on my TOV. Maybe I'm just used to the sound, but I like the 5:50 through it! A lot may have to do with the cabinet of the 212 being big, heavy and tuned to the speakers. It just doesn't have this fizzy sound I keep hearing about. I takes me a LOT of volume to break up the clean channel and the rest sound great too. Just my 2 cents worth...

I too have a 5:50 Head and a Stiletto 4x12 cab with V30's. I LOVE it! Would never considered changing the V30's. I have been thinking for three years now of buying a 4x12 Reco cab and making it a full stack. 5:50 Head + Stiletto 4x12 + Rectifier 4x12 = pure heaven! Don't need it, just want it!

That is a good combination with the Express isn't it. My setup is similar, but with a C90 in the Express and a V30 in the cab. I like the C90 up higher so I get more top end and a bit less bass.

I'm running my 5.25 through a Morgan 212 open back loaded with a well broken in old Marshall labled, English made V30 and a new WGS Green Beret. The tone is flat out killer to me.

I tried my 5:50 with my Marshall Vintage cab (Marshall V30) and I found it to be not as full range with the 5:50. Too much high's, but the clarity was great. I had a Eminence Texas Heat in a 112 cab so I tried that and it was a better match w/C90's. I tried a Fender 212 cab with 70/80's and it was a good match, with the c90. Closed cabs are a good combination with the 5:50. A pedal eq can make almost any speaker tolerable tho'. I'll probably use my other 212 cab that's loaded with a Eminence Governor and Celestion G12-75 at the next gig and see how it works. I love the Combo as it's loud or low and lightweight.
