EQ/Reverb Foot Switch Prob. MarkIIb

Hello, I just got a vintage Boogie EQ/Reverb foot switch on ebay. I checked it out and it seems to be wired correctly(steiro 1/4" jack). I tried it out in both 1/4" inputs near the reverb tank inputs and the volume gets very low and the reverb stays on?
I'm wondering if the post effects level mod is some how interfering?

I know this is a "Is there gas in the car?" query, but are you using a shielded TRS (stereo) cable?
And... are either of those "inputs by the reverb tank inputs" also stereo (TRS)?

It comes out of the foot switch with a green/white/black to a 1/4" stereo jack.(its not incased in a black guitar cord casing)
I thought I read in the MarkII owners manual that its just one input for both.?
