EQ on the Mark IV

where's the EQ located in the chain ? like before or after preamp or in between gain stages and whatnot ? Also what's the difference between that eq and let's say a random eq that would be inserted in the loop of some amp ?

The GEQ is at the fed into the phase inverter post all gain stages. It's like a paralell effect. An EQ in the series loop is between the V2A and B. It would be mixed within the earlier gain stages and lead channel.
