eq in loop of dual-recto

so you guys that use some type of eq pedal in the fx loop of a dual-recto amp.... do you just use short patch cables and put the pedal near/ontop of your amp when you play.. or, do you run 2 cables out send/return out to your pedalboard? i'm thinking most of you guys leave them on all the time, right?

i have mine on top of my amp head at this time with short cables. It's always on so fine on top of the amp.

My EQ is on my pedal board before my delay pedal in the fx loop.
