I played this amp today and I thought it sounded great ! I was actually surprised that it sounded as good as my first impression was of it.

I played back and forth between it and the Roadking which I really like because of its high gain channels.

This amp dosent have the attack or gain of the RK but it does have a very nice, rich, lush ... natural sound that is very pleasant to listen to and play.

I would also like to hear it with a little extra overdrive to see what it does with that.

Its not for the metal player or the player that wants to tweak every little thing but it does sound very good without a lot of work.

well you could easily do metal with a tubescreamer in front. honestly if you have the right guitar and the right picking hand you could do a lot of heavy heavy stuff without one.

what style of music, and what bands for example, would Electra Dyne best cover?

Is there a gain knob on it?

I think the real question is... Does it go to eleven?

Sure sounds like it. 8)

The overdriven tones have Plexi and Metalface written all over them.

I would imagine that little insert guard on the EL34/6L6 Bias switch will be the remedy for what some posters were worrying about with the Mark V's selector.

sounds like it has a lot of potential for most kinds of rock/hard rock. kinda like a JCM 800 with more bass on tap. cleans would sound better with 6L6 but I'm an EL34 guy all the way....

nice demo music selection.
