El34's in a roadster ..

has anyone done this yet? I love the amp, but the Brit channel is less than par. The Roadster manual basically says .. "if you put EL34's in the Roadster, its gona make the Brit mode kick booty!! .. but, the other channels are much better off with 6L6's, and the amp will be thinner and brighter" .. a compramise.

anyone throw EL34's in it yet? how were the other channels after the swap?

I am almost comsidering upgrading to the Road King II just so I can run EL34's in the Brit mode, and keep the 6L6's intact in the other channels. a 600$ differance in price tho

I can tell you that I run my DR with EL34's and it's anything but 'thin and bright'

Maybe with Mesa EL34s

Drop some JJEL34L's into it, plenty o' balls. Not 6L6 style but a good compromise.

Have you tried the EL34's yet? I've been considering the same with my roadster.

BTW: did you get your tuner problem worked out?
