Is it possible to swap out EL34s for KT88s on a mark III? I have heard that some amps it is possible but that the plate voltage needs to be higher on a KT88 or something. Anyone elaborate on this?

A guy on sevenstring.org I talked to uses KT77s in the outter sockets of his red stripe, he says he loves it, when the **** site is up I could dig up his user name and you can ask him all about it. :)

KT77 are a form of EL34 and are very different than KT88. I use JJ KT77 in my Tremoverb sometimes. I like them more than a lot of tubes in that amp. By far my favorite is old 6CA7. 6CA7 are a other other EL34 type.
