Eh 6Ca7's

My EH El34's took a dump, so I ordered some EH 6Ca7's from the tubestore. Anyone else using them in their MKIII or MKIV?

No, it's a big bottle EL-34 and does not have a true beam forming element like a true 6CA7 made by GE, Sylvania, Phillips or the new Groove Tubes GE 6CA7.

Who know's? It may be just fine for what you're looking for. It's really up to you. One thing for sure, it's a tough tube. It takes my Musicman HD130's 700+ volts (at FULL volume with a hotplate) just fine (the HD130 can be brutal on the wrong tubes too). On my HD130 it gave the amp a little more headroom but a "crunchier" (when pushed) OD than the JJ EL34L's that were in there previously. I have not tried them on my Mark III Blue Stripe though.

well, got em in today. They sound just as good as the EH EL34's that were in it...

No, it just wont sound like a true 6CA7 should but it shouldn't sound bad.
