I'm planning to get either a Dual or Triple Rectifier.
I don't plan to play either with volume above 12.00 O clock, but I heard some opinions that the Triple Rectifier has a tighter low-end then the Dual.

Anyone here with any experience on this matter? I will be using this amp with EMG81 pickups and an Ibanez TS-9 tubescreamer.

I know Testament's "The Gathering" was recrorded with a Triple Rec and that album has a really good tone.

i had both a while back at the same time, they where both two channel and i played them thru the same cab with a esp viper standard with twin emg 81's and GHS zakk wylde strings (the really fat ones .11-.70) and i will say that the triple took the crown hands down i would say get it there was a real difference in tone, bass response.

Would you care to explain a little deeper what you mean regarding tone and bass responce?

the Triple Rec has higher headroom due to the extra 50 watts. This gives it just enough oomph to be tighter than a Dual. The cleans should theoretically break up much later as well.

yeah when i used the dual and palm muted the bass would be muddy real loose and flabby sounding like if you've ever used greenback speakers compared to v-30s. on the triple it was crisp boomy and tight like the overtones ended clearly not fuzzy. it even produced more of a thump that i could feel where the dual did not have that percussive effect.here's a pic of them http://xs320.xs.to/xs320/07411/P1010003.JPG

...so basically for fast-picking metal stuff I should go for the triple?

Triple or a Mark IV, those are tight as **** too.

Tried using a Marshall JMP-1 preamp with a Recto 2:100 poweramp.

First I recorded with all 200 watts into the same cabinett setting the volume just so the speakers started moving.

Then I recorded the same setup with only one 100watt channel into the same cabinett. I set the volume so the recorded signal was equal to the first recording....

They both kinda sounded the same....maybe the 200watt recording was a tiny tiny bit more clear, that's all...

Is this the "big" difference everyone are talking about then they praise the dual recto over the triple???
