Hello All,
I recently had my first issue with my Dual Recto head. It was playing find and I threw it into standby while we took a break. When I came back to it the amp sounded as if my guitar volume was barely on. The gain is almost non-existent on channel 2&3. Channel 1 'seems' to be ok... The 'pushed' mode works, but I haven't used it much so I couldn't tell you if it sounds like it used to. The first thing I did was swap out all the preamp tubes with a spare set and it had no effect. I swapped the power tubes for the heck of it, and it too didn't have an effect. I'm certain the problem is in the preamp section of at least channel 2&3. I pulled the chassis out of the cabinet to inspect the boards. After poking around I can't locate any obviously smoked components or loose connections.
I'm just thinking out loud, the problem could be with one of the many relays used in channel switching -- perhaps one is stuck on/off. It really could be just about anything.... Anyone seen a similar problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kyle
