I just recently purchased the combo version of the Roadster, with 2X12. I wanted to be able to run the combo speakers alongside my mesa boogie cab, so that all six speakers are running at once. Question is can I do this straight from the back hook ups, or am I going to have to rewire according to series?

Here are pcitures of both the Roadster combo and Mesa cabs' rear.

Thanks

hi

check the roadster maual about it. it should nt be any problem to run a 8 ohm cab with that combo

I am one that is always bragging about how well Boogie manuals are written. I think they are the best in the industry. In this instance though, I didn't see or overlooked, where in the manual it tells the impedance of the 2 combo speakers. I see why your confused.

The picture from the back panel linked in your post shows the combo's speakers plugged into the 4om Jack. Probably just the photographer not knowing where to plug something in. I was under the impression (Roadster combo owners help me out here) that the 2 12 combo was wired at 8 ohms.

If your cab is 8 ohms and tour combo is 8 ohms you plug the combo speaker into the 4 ohm jack and you plug the 4x12 into the 8 ohm in (should be silver and bottom right as your looking at it) and the other 4ohm Jack on the roadster.

If the combo is 8 ohm's you would want to plug into the 8ohm tap if your just running the combo's speakers.

Worst case scenarion you could always take the back off and visually inspect the combo speakers and refer back to the manual with the diagrams of speakers wired in parallel or series.

Good luck

I have a 2x12 & 4x12 cab for my roadster. You'll be using both of the 4 ohm speaker outputs on the combo, on for the combo speakers and one for the cabinet into the 8ohm input on the cabinet. The 2x12 is wired as 8ohms, the 1x12 combos are 16 ohm. If you just want to use the 4x12 go from the 8ohm out on the amp to the 8ohm on the cab and leave the amp speakers unplugged. You don't need to rewire anything, just remember for your 2 cabs its the 4ohm outs and the 8ohm in on the 4x12.

Cool very helpful, thanks guys!

Yeah, I like this set up so I have something to take home with me and have a cab to leave at practice and to play shows with. Can't wait to hear how it sounds!
