danvortex - great post on OD's.

I would point out that I noticed the feedback you mentioned on the OCD and Zakk Wyle pedals but not on the Tubscreamers TS9DX or TS808. No need for a noisegate with my DR and TS808 even at "concert volume."

I do dial the gain back on the amp but I set the TS pretty much at noon.

good for you if you don't need the gate, it also depends on the guitar's output, maybe yours is ok without the gate. With my set up it is impossible to play without the gate.

So how do you like the tone with an OD ?
