I have recently bought a Trem-o-Verb 2x12 combo and am having a bit of a hard time with it.
Apart from all the switches on the back (which fries my brain) I can't seem to be able to engage
the Tremolo on it, maybe I'm missing something or am failing to flick a switch but I've tried various
settings and still nothing.
I've tried flicking the little switches on the front, nothing.
Tried messing about in the back- still nothing.
Can anyone tell me if the tremolo is tube driven, in which case I should be looking for some new tubes
or is it electronic, in which case a fuse might have gone?
any help would be immense.
I am only asking as I may be shifting it on in a few weeks if my old amp is fixable. I bought this as
an emergency amp and dont want to sell it on with something buggered on it.
Cheers

The tremolo is solid-state driven with an oscillator IC, and an LDR opto-coupler to the audio path. If you have both the front panel switches in the on position (up, set to Orange and Red) and no footswitch in the jack on the back of the amp, it should work. If it doesn't, you most likely have a dead LDR, or possibly a dead IC. The LDRs are used for all the switching functions as well as the tremolo and it's unfortunately not too rare to have one go out - this is fairly common on Tremoverbs especially from near the end of the production run, Mesa got a bad batch. It's not too hard a fix for a tech - I'm fairly sure that a Mesa Service center will only charge you for labor as the LDRs are a free replacement, Mesa know about the batch issue.

Thanks for the reply mate,I have written to Mesa, who are incredibly slow at replying, They replied about 3 days ago asking where I am located, and I've heard nothing since.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Cheers Rich
