The fan runs off the primary tap so when you hit tweed, it drops the input voltage to everything. It's a variac for the fan too and totally normal.

NICE. That explains it...

I've got another one for ya. What's the easiest way to unplug the fan?

Just unplug it from the head. It is a normal 2 blade connector.

When I have to unplug the fan from my Mark combos, I turn the ampo off and unplug it from the AC. I then insert the blade of a small slotted screw-driver between the amp's fan recepticle and the fan plug, and gently rotate it side to side. This usually separates the fan plug enough so I can grab it with my fingers to pulll it all the way out.

I added an off/on switch to my Mark IIC, so when i need to turn the fan off, I simply flip the switch.

Haha, oh ****. I'd forgotten about that. I was running it in Full power a large chunk of the time lately, and this was like the reverse, I switched it to Tweed, and it sounded so so quiet.

Sorry about that. Mods, delete this thread!
