I am sure V5 would be the phase inverter .
1-3 "pre-amps" is 4 the reverb "tube"?
I have 2 mullard 12AT7s , NOS , can I use
one safely in V4 and V5 or only V5 ?
I think the 12AT7s have different current values ?
Maybe I cannot use them at all ?

Thanks in advance.

Start from reading the manual. It's available on the Mesa website. Your mullard 12at7's have less gain than a 12ax7, and they might really improve the sound depending where you choose to use them, knowing the tube assignments that are shown in the manual is the key to start. Peace.

Which Road King are you talking about? RKI or RKII? The reason I asked is because you didn't specify, or I misread. If you are talking about the RKI, I believe it had only has 5 preamp tubes, there is no Reverb tube/valve. Where as the RKII now features tube reverb and that added another preamp tube for the reverb :D RKII has two version. RKII v.1 had an external trigger jack, and RKII v.2 has a tuner out.

In my RKII manual, it reads
V1 A First gain Stage
V1 B Second gain Stage
V2 A Third gain stage Ch 1&2
V2 B Third gain stage Ch 3&4
V3 A Fourth gain stage Ch 3&4
V3 B Tone stack Driver Ch 3&4
V4 A Reverb Return
V4 B Reverb Driver
V5 A FX Loop send
V5 B FX Loop Return
V6 A Phase Inverter/Driver
V6 B Phase Inverter/Driver

So in regards to the RKI. V1-3 are the gain stages. V4 would be the loop, and V5 would be the phase inverter... I could be mistaken.
