thanks a lot man. yea i scored the cab before the head and I didn't think it would be an issue but i may unload it and get something that jives better hopefully.

Are they Celestion V30s or are they Black Shadows? Some REcto cabs have the Shadows while others are Celestions.

Also, an EQ in the loop really helped control and tighten up my sound (cut the boom). Someone already mentioned EL34s, so...

The oversized cabs don't mix as well with the Roadster. Rumour is the traditional is the way to go. Maybe try other cabs (orange, marshall, vader) with different speaker configs. Might find something that meshes with the Roadster better.

Seconded. The Cab is half the sound of your rig. Still, most metal guys here recommend the Mills cabs so there has to be something to that. I personally like my homemade thiele 2 x 12 better than my rectocab (traded) because it sounds clearer, takes gain well, and retains tightness. None of this flub BS.

Im pretty sure mines V30s. But im back and i can say wow im pretty surprised after implementing alot of the help. I feel pretty good, and maybe even great haha.
Well a quick recap and ill head to bed and get the clips going tomorrow. Ive got Probably 8-10 Tracks and takes, I did a set of 4
My Old Settings
Erics Recomendations
Yellowjackets Recomendations
Yetti Likes - i mix em up into a setting i like.
Both Loop Engaged and Loop bypassed.
All 8 Tracks Tracked

And i can say wow i could tell the difference in teh Loop in and the loop out. And i really like the loop out! **** i would have never thought that, but i have read it alot that it will kill the tone...But looking back kinda makes sence i didnt have much effects so i wasnt engaging the loop, when i started buying more effects thats when it was in downward spiral mode. But brought up alot of the bite and attack that i was looking for. So now ive got to decide do i off my "Gmajor 2 in a Gmajor 1s Body" and the Decimator Rack G
When bypassed it gives the ugly Amp background sound but i guess i could live with that being the tone is much richer.
Once concern i have is i didnt unhook my in loop gear all i have is Guitar>Decimator>Decimatore to Amp Input. Then <Loop>in Decimator>Decimator into "Gmajor2">"Gmajor2" Out </Loop> Being i still ran my guitar Through The loop, Could it have been Decimating my signal? Because i didnt have any problems with Feedback or unwanted notes?
I didnt take the time to Unplug the loop and just do guitar into Head...you guys think it will be the same?
I used to have a pretty serious problem with feedback, And the Boss NS2 didnt do Shiizz, so ive been with the Dec RackG.

But what am i going to do for effects!?! Ahh im just gona have to dump them?? lol?

I went into Bold mode and flicked the recto tracking back and forth at the end of my session. And i didnt Not like it. It was relatively a good sound, Almost more relaxed? but it certainly peaked my interest. Only spent 15-20 min with it tho.

Well if i dont have to worry about feed back i could sell my 2 space rack and gear and then cab and that would give me probably enough money to go after a mills. I should have saved the cash and went for it when i was going for a new cab but i could only saw one used one.

But clips and more blabbing to come tomorrow.

Thanks everyone in this Freaking thread, cant express enough how cool it is to have a lot of you backing strangers in different situations. And i hear videos eric? would love to hear how your setup sounds.

Hey man, not trying to disappoint you, but ...

I tested the roadster for a few weeks some months ago. I used Channel 4 in the modern setting, and even with Presence and treble way past noon it always lacked a certain ... bite and aggression ... to my ears. I didn't keep it and now i recently got the new dual rectifier (the 2010 version) which is much more to my taste. Anyway, it would be nice to do an a/b comparison of the two, but i think the roadster is just not as "brutal" and tight as the rectifiers.

Anyway, best luck finding your tone :)

also try a traditional recto cab. it really tightens the sound of the roadster up

I would try that first, then perhaps use an EQ pedal in the loop to see if it can get tight enough for you...

I know you said you didn't want to, but turning the mids up past 2:00 gave me sick, tight tone out of the Rectifier I was playing through a few days ago. You might want to try it for a couple of songs and see if you like it. I know I did, and it worked extremely well in context of a band!
