Hey guys

I was just wondering is it okay if I disconnect my guitar cable from the amp, when its set on stand by mode?

Bermuda,

Did you ever post a tone clip of your amp. I remember you had been talking about not getting the gain you wanted out of your amp. I have not heard much from you lately. Did you get that sorted?

Don't unplug it from the *guitar* first unless the amp is on standby - but you should always unplug the cable first at the amp end, not the guitar, anyway - that way you won't get a loud hum/pop. It's completely safe to do this even if the amp is fully on or doesn't have a standby switch. Us old-timers do this without thinking about it anymore :).

Just before you ask the next question, it's also safe to unplug the *speaker* cable when the amp is on standby (you may want to do this if you're swapping cabs), but *do not* unplug it when the amp is fully on, at either end. Some amps - including the Dual Rectifier - can be unstable with no load and will self-oscillate, which is potentially dangerous for them.

I'll post the clip soon man, I'm just a bit skeptical on my playing at the moment that's all, I'm afraid what other people might think of it, so when I post a clip of the amp it will only be for the sake of the amp not my playing

I'll record a few demo's of the amp first then I'll post a clip for all you guys to hear.

Not likely that anyone would fuss too much over playing, we're all skeptical of our playing at times. Just wantin' to hear that amp!
