Great video. There's at least one Marshall head in his rig. I always wondered if he really used solid state amps...

A lot of his (Dime) stuff sounded solid state to me. I heard a Krank amp live the other week and it just sounded scooped and fuzzy...little to no tone, probably how the guy had it eq'd.

The Amps Dime's Running through are the 3 Randall Stacks. The Marshalls are just backlined behind them. He's not using them, they're just on the stage for the next band. Take a closer look at which amps are in front, it's the Randalls (which are what he used until he started working with Krank).

That was the Monsters of Rock show in the Soviet Union. There was another band on that bill who had a guitar player that was famous and used and still uses Marshall Silver Jubilees which are exactly like what is up there (I'll give you a hint, he has only one name and the first letter's an S and the last is an H). Notice which cabs are mic'ed. Dimebag's sound was NOT from Marshalls. His sound was Randalls. He had Randalls before he was even famous. He won one with his first Dean. The reason people couldn't get his sound out of Randalls is that he used a parametric EQ and would never share his settings. People say Vai doesn't use Carvins but he does, his live rig is all Carvins. Jeez
