Right now I've got my long time IIC+ that I just put into a great head cab by the great GTS and I have a newly acquired Brown Note Delite 44. They are sonically very close to each other to my ears. Yes they are different but in a complimentary way, they both sound fantastic. They must have a similar design, any amp techy dudes care to comment?

On Don's demo of the Mark V (IIC+) on Haggerty's Youtube channel, he hit the D-tone by rolling back the gain and putting the EQ in the up-down-up-down-down. Tech wise, I dunno...I think that EQ and setting was even in the IIC operating manual. Here's a pic I snatched from the vid:

I've got a mark IV and a ceriatone Overtone Special Bluesmaster 50w. And have done a lot of research on Dumble amps, although I'm hardly an expert. It's hard to pin down the "Dumble" sound, as every amp was tuned to the specific buyers needs, and hence every one is different. Whereas if you've got say a mark IVb it'll be relatively close to any other IVb, given differences in tubes and such. There is a basic overdrive architecture that's used in most Dumbles, which has the gain stages both before and after the TMB knobs, which is slightly different than the layout of the boogies. In my experience they're both very similar, which is understandable as they were both born out of similar times and similar musical cultures. And consider that one of the biggest names in guitar playing, Mr. Santana uses one of each, fairly interchangeably.

Differences specific to the IIc+ - don't know, haven't played one.
