i got the amp around 2 weeks ago and i got 2 vids of it up on my youtube channel

the first vid is of the extreme mode in 90 watts on ch3, i used an ESP kamikaze with an emg81 in the bridge

the second vid is of the 2c+ mode in 10 watts on channel 3, i played my black ESP MII with an emg 81 in the bridge

the sliders are on in a tweaked out classic v shape and i have the amp in triodes on variac mode the amp is being played through an oversized bogner 2x12 cabinet with vintage 30s

let me know what you think

You can get an idea of how awesome it sounds, but the recording sounds like it was done on a cell phone.

This is a nice clip man good stuff! Regardless of the sound due to the cam you can tell it sounds f'n huge and powerful in the room when loud like that. When I listen to that clip it makes me want one and I wonder if it is worth it to get a mark v when i already have a iv and iii red stripe is it a waste of time to consider unloading one of them to get one?

Did you use any pedal to achieve that sound?

mine does not soud like that...maybe are the pickups?

ive owned a mark 4A before so id say its worth it if you want a more modern sound and an actual useable 2nd channel, and better cleans...i think every mode on this amp is completely useable and sounds massive......i had a bogner uberschalll twin jet before this amp and i can dial it in to sound just as massively brutal.....its insane

to me the mark 4 was kinda more classic sounding but still could get brootal, the mark 4 mode on the 3rd channel doesnt really osund like the 4 did but it still sounds awesome......

and NO i didnt use any boosts or pedals at all........i hate those things and would never buy/use one EVER!!!!!

Just tried out those settings and wow, its a really nice improvement to the tone. I wonder though, what these settings would sound like at gig volume? I've noticed the mark to really open up with a very big tonal difference between lower volumes and being louder. Just like any Mesa I suppose but I'll try these out for sure tomorrow at band practice and get back to you with my thoughts. Maybe the II C+ video was a good studio or bedroom volume tone?

***Also, I thought I remember reading somewhere that you have to be careful using Variac Power. That you only want to use that in 10w-45w modes? I don't want to damage my amp but I can't remember where I heard that. I normally just run Diodes full power 90w on the Mark IV setting so I haven't experimented much yet until now trying your settings which btw...sound amazing. :)

Sounds great man!

I would like to hear more about the Mark V being as brutal as the Bogner Uber. I am still drooling all over that Bogner and I have a Mark V (I am happy with the Mark V).

What do you find the IIC+ useful for? I have been using the Extreme mode because Mark IV has no balls and the Mark IIC+ isn't brutal enough for me.

yes the bogner 2x12 i have is closed back

and the uber was a good amp but honestly for $3100 after taxes id much rather have the mark 5 and an extra grand in my pocket. the ubers have a bigger sub bassy low end but the mark 5 gets just as aggressive sounding with a decent punchy low end. the mark 5 on extreme mode can get into recto tone territory

the bogner just got boring after a while. out of all the boogies ive owned i never ever said they got boring.....the bogner does only one thing and does it pretty decent, the mark 5 can do the same thing and than some

here are some of my twin jet vids, this is the newest revision uberschall with the kt88s.....i can dial the mark 5 to sound almost identical
