Problem. When I turn on the amp the volume is very low and the tone very thin. I have to practically dime everything and I can sit right in front of the amp and play. After about 10 to 20 minutes of playing the volume starts to come back up and I start to turn things down. Now when the volume comes back this thing is loud and can blow the walls down. I replaced all the tubes. Same problem. Took it to a tech who said to replace the tubes with mesa tubes so I did. The tech checked all the voltages and said there was no problem. So after two expensive re-tubes in one month I don't know what to think or what to do.

I don't have any advice for you, I'm sorry. However, if you try posting this question on the Vintage Amsp board, you'll get some sort of response. I'm a DC-3 owner/player as well. I go to Vintage amps for answers to all my questions. Good luck.
