DC-2 noise

Hi, I have a studio caliber dc 2 and it makes a subtle but very noticable hiss or shhh noise on the lead channel. the noise increases with added gain and contour...wondering what it could be, i emailed boogie and they said that that amp is just kind of noisy, but ive read other posts saying these amps are quiet as a mouse. just put all new tubes in from mesa

My DC-2 is the earlier model without Contour. I get more hiss on the rhythm channel, so go figure.
