Hey guys, the DBX compressor I just got in sounds GREAT with my Mark IV. The gate is perfect, doesnt kill my tone and the compressor is good, not great but I think it's because I don't know how to use it properly. I set it to AUTO and it seems to drop my volume then raise it back up again???
Any suggestions as to why???
If you know any good setting for attack and release let me know
THRESHOLD is at 18db and Compression 2:1 *a little bit under*

I had been using a dbx compressor for a long time in the effects loop of my Triaxis. The gate was awesome and quieted the Triaxis so you could hear a pin drop. I wanted to just use it as 2 seperate compressors and so I bought an Isp Decimator freeing up the dbx. Where in the chain do you have it?

It sounds like you may have it currently set to a fast attack and a fast release, which can cause the pumping sound you are experiencing. I'm not too sure what the AUTO function does. Try disabling the AUTO function, increasing the threshold a bit, and reducing the release time. You can even reduce the attack a bit depending on how it sounds.

Just set everything low at first and slowly adjust until you find the right setup you are looking for.
