Where can I find some info on ordering a new face plate for my Dual? Nothing wrong with the original just want to customize it a bit more to my liking. I like the Black and Tweed looking face plates that some of the 2010 models come with. Wonder if I can just order one from MESA? I've got to look at my head tomorrow to see how I could install one though. Any suggestions from those who have?

thanks-

mesa charge alot for a new face plate. just take it off and do it yourself. its only stuck on with double sided tape. take the chassis out and give it a good hit from the inside or use a hair drier to take it off

Depending on what you get, a new replacement faceplate ranges between $300-$700 dollars. The Jute (or whatever its called) that comes on the new 2010 Recto is a nice looking grill and probably would not be much more than $300.

I made my own. I found some of the jute grill cloth on ebay, took a piece of sheet metal and cut it out to about 1/8" smaller than the diamond plate and covered it with the jute using super high strength spray glue. I even used the vents from the diamond plate so it looked like the Road King heads.

It's a little time consuming, but not difficult at all.

I've since gone back to the diamond plate though.

$300-700? wow, I can't say I saw that coming. I was thinking at most around $150 but maybe that price shows installation by MESA too? That kinda makes the decision for me I suppose. Also, by changing the plate I would probabley be limiting its re sale potential down the road. Everyone knows the front of those amps and it looks amazing on stage in a dark venue. :)

A replacement black powder coated diamond plate face (that YOU install) was right around $300 the last time I called.

$700 would be for something like a fine leather or something.

And I can't see a replacement face de-valuing the amp very much if at all. It would make it "custom", right?
